Contact Media were brought in by the Central Manchester Foundation Trust to build a new Intranet site to promote the Quality Campaign that the hospital was launching. The site itself allowed members of staff to interact with each other through forums and blogs and to give their support to the campaign.

The intranet system used open source software with PHP coding and a MySQL database.

Features included:

• Content Management System to allow members of staff to upload and edit content in-house
• A forum which allowed open discussion between memebers of staff
• A blog which was updated regularly to inform staff of upcoming events
• A new rotator to keep the news fresh and up to date
• An interactive map of the hospital to indicate the number of signups each division of the hospital has acheived
• Newsletter downloads - staff can download the latest newsletter in pdf format
• A different section on the site for each hospital division to make content more relevant for each
